Changing of the Guard

Hello IKILLYAns

This has been a very eventful year for us and the next few months show no sign of slowing. We are still on track to finish our first EP with Josh Wilbur and then enter the studio with Armando Subero and Ryan Kelly to record the other 7 songs. We can't wait to share them with you.

The bad news though is that we have parted ways with 7. He is a powerful and creative drummer and we wish him the best of luck. Jeff Gretz, who sat in with us July 24th, will be finishing our recordings and we have begun the search for a new drummer. If you know anyone who may be interested, please have them contact us at info@ikillya.com

Rest assured, we are not slowing down one bit. We are continuing to book into the fall (post recording of course) and will be hiring drummers until we have a permanent replacement. See you all soon and make sure you're on our mailing list so we can send you free music as soon as we're done with it!

Recording Recording

Hey there!...all sorts of news to update you guys with this time!
First off, thanks to everyone who came to our recent Ace of Clubs show....it truly kicked ass. Great feedback, a great crowd, and an excellent drumming sit-in from none other than Mr Jeff Gretz. Cheers Jeff!

On the recording front, we are all booked up to record a 6 song E.P. down in Staten Island. Recording commences in early September and should be done mid-October...depending on how long Jason takes to do his singer thing (psshh).

On top of that!!! we are currently back at it with Josh Wilbur, tracking vocals for our soon to be completed (hopefully) 3 song demo. Can't wait to hear the final mixes there.. Josh has some serious skills in the studio....(as do we of course....)

IKILLYA Live - Ace of Clubs NYC, July 24th!!!!!

Well hello there everyone....our next show is less than TWO WEEKS AWAY! We are playing the eternally awesome Ace of Clubs in Manhattan on Saturday, July 24th, with our good friends Devil To Pay, Lo Pan, and others TBC... be there...it'll be a great time, and also because...

It'll be our last summer show before we head into the studio to record our first E.P!!!! More news on that in the very near future.

Public Assembly

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us last night at the Public Assembly in Brooklyn - especially in the rain. It was a whole lot of fun and its a really cool venue. You guys rock!

New Show Booked! - June 9th, 2010

We have booked a show in Public Assembly in Williamsburg on June 9th. Its a Wednesday night but we are playing quite early at 9pm...so stop by and have a beer! There will be three other bands TBC (first band at 8pm).

Trash Bar and More! - May 11th, 2010

So we had an awesome show out at the Trash Bar in Williamsburg last Saturday, many thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. Our next show will likely be in July (24th) at the Ace of Clubs. Joining us on stage are our good friends Devil To Pay (among others), so it'll undoubtedly be a good time. See you all there!

In other news, we are still in the process of recording our EP with Josh Wilbur. Its tough scheduling time when everyone is available, but it should be done in the not too distant future. More on that soon.

We added some videos to our facebook page of us playing at Ace of Clubs back in Feb 2010, so check them out and let us know what you think...and of course, if you haven't already, "like" us there! Back to the Studio - Mar. 28th, 2010
Well here we are in March. It's been a crazy few weeks but we're still rocking. We've just moved into a new practice studio which is our favorite yet. Out last landlord turned out to be a bastard, but he should have known better than to mess with a bunch of metalheads with degrees in juvenile delinquency.

What's up all? We're rockin away in 2010. We had a great time on Feb 6th and we thank all of you that came out! We're booking away for the spring/summer and finishing up our EP. 2010 Bookings and an EP - Jan. 4th, 2010
Happy New Year everyone! It's been 4 long years that IKILLYA has been around in one form or another and we're really excited to be making some serious headway. For starters, we're in the middle of recording our first proper EP with Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God/Hatebreed/Slipknot). We are honored to be able to work with him and can not wait for you to hear how good this sounds! Click the "VIDS" link above to watch some videos from our sessions.

Next we've begun booking again. Our first show this year is Feb 6th at one of our favorite haunts, Ace of Clubs, with our favorite band Hung. RSVP at Myspace or at Facebook We're still filling out the lineup but you know it'll be killer. We're working on other dates right now so keep an eye out!

Slaytastic - Dec. 14th, 2009
Whoa! Well now that was a lot of fun! Thank you to all of our friends (and there were a LOT of you) who came out this past friday and threw down with us. We had a blast and I think we held our own against the killer lineup of HUNG, The Saints of Pain, Devil To Pay, and Knives Everywhere. Thanks as always to Ace of Clubs. We're looking forward to recording this winter and playing plenty more shows so stay close! We're on a damn roll now.

Feels good to be back - Nov. 14th, 2009
Hello friends. Last nights show was a hell of a lot of fun and we want to thank you all for coming out. Hung absolutely mopped the floor with all the other bands, but what did we expect? Resolution 15, With Daggers Drawn and In Means of Life all killed it and were great to party with as well. We've got a few more songs to write before we get into full swing but we're going to start booking for October right now. We'll see you all soon!

Holy Crap! It's the yearly IKILLYA show! - Oct. 25th, 2009
That's right, it's that time again. However, hopefully, this is the last year it takes us a year to get here. (say that 3 times fast) We've got a whole slew of new songs and we're going to start booking like crazy, so come see us this Saturday at Fontanas (105 Eldridge St) and we'll thank each and every one of you individually. Besides, you know Hung will be throwing down with us and on top of that we're joined by With Daggers Drawn, and Resolution 15!

Unfortunately, that's how we feel. 3 years of what seems like us just eating our tail. On the positive side, we've grown as musicians and as a band in ways I don't think would have been possible otherwise. Of course, I'm speaking of our never-ending guitarist search. All you have to do is scroll down to see the number of times I've said "we're really excited to announce...." followed shortly by "we've parted ways with....". It's quite tiring for us, as I'm sure it is for those of you amazing people who have held the same hope we have.
That having been said, we're really excited to announce (ha) that we've been playing with the best guitarist yet for quite a while now. (over 2 months I think....) Of course, we still want 2, but at this point, we're excited to have one.
For those of you who didn't witness our drunken 2 songs at my birthday party, it looks like we'll be returning to the stage full force on Aug 1. (I'll give you 1 guess who it's with) We'll be at Fontanas with Hung and a few other bands. Of course, we'll play first. I hope to see you out there, if for no other reason than to just have a beer.

Back to the front!
We're back, and we couldn't be happier. IKILLYA returns to the stage Nov 22nd @ The Ace of Clubs in NYC with our good friends Hung. Our new guitarist is killing it and we've got lots of new music for you. We can't wait to see you all!
We're also still keeping our eyes open for a 5th member. If you know anyone who shreds and you think would be a good fit, hit us up!

Guitarist FOUND!

Hey friends
Time for round 8. After nearly 7 months of searching, we have found a new guitarist. I know it seems like we've been back and forth with this many times, and we have. However, this new cat is fitting in better than anyone in a long time! We'd like to welcome Stephanos to IKILLYA. We'll have pictures up soon and who knows, we might even start booking!

That's right. Once again, we're looking for guitarists. Here's what we're looking for:
We have a dream. We have the dream of a metal band that stays brutal at it's heart but is unafraid to push the expectations of common metal. We have a dream of a metal band that amazes mosh pits and musicians alike. We have a dream that is almost realized. We are searching for a guitarist who shares our dream of domination. We are searching for a guitarist who writes riffs that make you want to punch your mother, solos that sear the skin from your face, melodies that defy you to not sing, and jazz/blues breaks and changes that fortune tellers couldn¹t predict. We have a dream to create a band to rival all conventional metal. We do not claim to have achieved any of this yet, but we are chasing this dream, and all we need is you!!!

We are IKILLYA. We do not care what your influences are as long as you want to make metal. Ours would take too long to list. We don¹t care what color you are, what sex you are, or what planet you are from. Join us. We know you are out there.
